Stourhead Wedding Photography: Tory and Mike’s wedding

Stourhead Wedding Photography

Tory and Mike’s wedding took place at Stourhead – a beautifully landscaped English garden and part of the National Trust in Wiltshire – between Warminster and Wincanton.

The couple flew in from Canada to get married in England, where Tory was born and raised.

Tory got ready for the wedding in her parents’ home in Stourhead – a converted former school full of character and good light, surrounded by picturesque rolling fields.

Just before the ceremony began in St Peter’s Church, Stourhead, I managed to capture the arrival of Tory and Mike’s guests from London  and Tory’s pretty bridesmaids in striking blue dresses.

The ceremony was completed with Tory and Mike’s grand exit from the village Church. They were greeted by their friends making an archway for the newly weds with ski poles as both spend a lot of time skiing in Canada.

An unexpected highlight of the wedding shoot occurred when a peacock came from nowhere and landed on the stone wall which surrounds Stourhead Gardens as if he wanted to pose for wedding photos. I managed to capture Tory and Mike with spectacular Stourhead as a backdrop and the beautiful bird perched right next to them.

Once the session was finished, everyone departed to Tory’s family home to continue the celebration under a wedding marquee laid next to the house on an adjacent field.

Brympton House Wedding Photography: Emily and George’s wedding at Brympton House, Brympton D’Evercy

Brympton House Wedding Photography

Emily and George’s wedding was held at the very special Brympton House at Brympton D’Evercy, near Yeovil. The period architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens at Brympton House provide opportunities for stunning wedding photography.

Emily had her wedding preparation at her sister’s house and then was driven in a classic Rolls Royce to St Mary’s Church in Cossington for the wedding ceremony. Emily was accompanied by her brother who gave her away to the groom.

The wedding ceremony was very emotional.  Afterwards guests and family arranged for a traditional “confetti” shot outside the Church yard.

It was a pleasure to photograph this lovely young couple in such a beautiful place.

Bristol Wedding Photography- Simon and Georgina’s Wedding at Bristol Registry Office and Hotel du Vin

Bristol Wedding Photography

Simon and Georgina got married in the bustling heart of Bristol.  They chose to tie the knot at Bristol Registry Office and held their wedding reception at the stylish Hotel Du Vin. It was an intimate wedding with a few quests and family members.

I was able to take photographs of Georgina’s wedding preparations at the Hotel du Vin. I then walked the short distance to the Registry Office to capture the bride’s arrival. After the wedding ceremony, we wandered along Broad Street. I managed to take some romantic photos inside the stone arch and some more dramatic photographs using a colourful graffiti wall as a backdrop.

Despite a little rain I managed to capture some romantic, reportage shots with the help of my white umbrellas. By the time we returned to the Hotel du Vin, the rain was heavier, so the rest of the wedding photos were taken inside the hotel bar and reception room. Georgina and Simon were clearly enjoying their day, radiating happiness and it reflected in the photos I took at their wedding.

Castle Combe Wedding Photography- Lisa and Martin

Castle Combe Wedding Photography

Lisa and Martin chose the chocolate box village of Castle Combe in Wiltshire for their wedding. Not only is it one of the most quintessentially English villages in Britain and a perfect location for beautiful wedding photography, but it has featured in several famous films including Agatha Christie’s Poirot  and War Horse.

Most of the wedding photography was done in and around the Manor House Hotel. The couple’s Aston Martin DB6 drew a lot of attention and was the focus a number of wedding  photographs.

After getting ready for the wedding at the Manor House Hotel in the heart of Castle Combe, Lisa, her bridesmaids and father walked to St. Andrew’s Church for the ceremony. The ceremony was a beautifully traditional affair with songs, prayers and lots of photos at the signing of the register.  After the ceremony, everyone went out into Castle Combe village centre  to congratulate the newly wedded couple. It was a pleasure to photograph Lisa and Martin in such a picture perfect setting.

I left the party just after sunset having taken a rather dramatic photo of the Manor House Hotel sinking into the dusk.
